Lawrence was so good at sensing our shifting wants and needs - and quickly adjusted our itinerary to make the best experience possible. His ability to navigate traffic with his own car made the entire tour more enjoyable and convenient. He was always willing and eager to share his insights, favorite places and favorite foods (he was always bringing us unique things to sample). We felt we saw Penang, not some touristy facade of Penang.

Lawrence is an excellent driver and guide (his car is AWESOME!). He took extremely good care of us and showed us parts of Penang we never thought of seeing. Orang Utan Island + Penang, full-day by brand-new 2.0L SUV (built 2024)
Lawrence met us at the Penang port and we made great time to the orangutan island. Because we were a bit early he showed us an arrowana fish store and told us about the grading (=pricing) of the fish. At the island we got on a small but faster boat and he explained to us everything he knows about the orangutans and showed us how the orangutan can use a stick to get peanuts and fruit that fell outside the enclosure demonstrating that the animal can use tools, Lawrence is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the orangutans as well as many subjects. Later he took us to the Penang hills and we rode on the funicular in the vip line. With a bit of time left he also took us to the Chew Jetty and had time to go see the bicycle mural. Our driver was very nice and he was courteous to other drivers. All in all, Lawrence and the driver provided us a superb and wonderful experience.

We did a 5 day tour of the west coast with Lawrence and learned so much about Malaysian history and society. Lawrence gave a wonderful tour! He was very knowledgeable of the area, history, local culture and more. His tour was entertaining and funny, while also informative. His driving and navigating were efficient and paced well, and we loved the white/orange SUV with fantastic AC!!! Would highly recommend Lawrence for anyone with teens or young adults in the group. Also, be sure to stop by Lawrence's favorite street food stall for the best fried noodles ever. Overall his tour was an amazing way to explore Penang!

TOUR: Multi-Day Tour in Malaysia by Car for Lynnda/Darren C.
Well...what can I say about Lawrence, our guide, chauffeur and local encyclopedia for our 10 day tour of Malaysia. The thing that swayed us towards Lawrence was the detailed itinerary that he provided very early in the whole process. It was nice to have a plan of the things we were going to see and a rough estimate of time etc so that we could also make some alterations, ask questions to refine the itinerary.
Overall, Lawrence was very knowledgeable on the local history, loves his local food, not to mention the local fruit Durian, which to us Australians has an acquired smell which we never got used to for our whole trip, happy not to smell that fruit ever again. He also drives a beautiful car that transforms into a rally car when needed, but I worked out later that is how people drive in Malaysia.
I think you will be happy with Lawrence as your tour guide, nothing was a hassle.
