The Eastern & Oriental Hotel (E&O Hotel) is a historic luxury hotel located in George Town, Penang. The hotel is often called the E&O Hotel and is known for its colonial architecture and heritage.

The Eastern Hotel was founded by the Sarkies Brothers in 1884. Within one year, the hotel had prospered and surged in popularity such that the brothers established another hotel, the Oriental Hotel, in 1885, leading to a merger of both hotels into the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in 1889. The brand's success led the brothers to establish sister hotels, the Raffles Hotel in Singapore in 1887 and the Strand Hotel in Rangoon, Burma, in 1901.

Throughout its history, it was mostly used by wealthy and privileged people from the Western world, including famous writers, who came on steamships to experience the fascinating East. For more than 138 years, this hotel in the center of George Town has kept shining as a reminder of the elegant British colonial period.
