Worth every penny! We’re on a very tight schedule in Penang and this was the best way to cover the major highlights in a short amount of time. Lawrence was very knowledgeable and flexible to accommodate our requests. Car was clean and comfortable as well. I highly recommend him for the first timer. He certainly made our trip memorable.

TOUR: Charming Orang Utan Island + Penang City Tour (Full-Day by SUV)
We had a wonderful tour! We were 4 adults and Lawrence had shown us a wonderful day at the sanctuary as well as the city. He explained many aspects of local life. We had a wonderful lunch in a local cafe he recommended. His driving and drop off points were so convenient. We had wonderful rides in trishaws, each of us in our own trishaw. We were told we had to pay $2 per person in cash to the trishaw drivers which we did prior to the rides. At the end of the day tour, we were told that we also owed Lawrence an additional $60 total for the four 15 minute rides. This seemed quite overpriced compared to what I've read online about pricing.

Yes, it was overpriced. The usual trishaw ride ends at Khoo Kongsi. This ride, we changed to Chew Jetty. The drivers skipped Little India and Chinatown, probably because of my unclear instructions. My apologies. Thank you for still giving me a 5-star review.

TOUR: Breathtaking Orang Utan Island (Half-Day by SUV)
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Lawrence to the Orang Utan sanctuary. It was obvious that Lawrence was very knowledgeable about the island, the operation and the apes and we felt we had a special advantage over other people from our ship doing the same tour through another provider. Clarence brought along snacks for the apes and used his relationships with the apes to help our experience with them. It was an excellent tour! Lawrence also went above and beyond to assist us back in Penang city in contacting our friends, and then went further and took us to his favourite restaurant and then to tour the jetties. All the while Lawrence was extremely easy to talk with and very informative and helpful in telling us about Malaysia and life in his country. It was just a great day in Penang and we could not have asked for a better tour guide to spend the day with!!!

Lawrence was on time and communicated with me several times before so we were at ease. The car was a bit tight as we were 4 and my wife had to go on the 3rd row.
His knowledge was excellent. He planned our stops very well and helped us choose the meals we were going to have at the dim sum restaurant. He brought us back at the agreed time to the cruise port entrance.
Very happy with the overall tour.

TOUR: Enchanting Penang Tour (Half-Day by Van)
We booked a half-day private tour in Penang with Lawrence for our group of 10 and had an excellent experience. He was very knowledgeable and helped plan an itinerary that made the most of our limited time in port. Communication via WhatsApp was smooth, and he met us right at the cruise terminal. The van was comfortable for our large group.
We visited Kek Lok Si Temple where Lawrence explained the history and symbolism, and shared insights into Chinese culture and Buddhist teachings. He arranged a trishaw ride through George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, ending at Khoo Kongsi, and handled a brief issue with a lost trishaw driver very professionally.
A highlight was stopping for Char Kway Teow near the jetty. We also saw the “Children on a Bicycle” mural and ended at the Pinang Peranakan Mansion. Lawrence was efficient and flexible. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for an impeccable guide select Larwance guide 5201. He is organized, timely, knows his town well, the history, the best sites to see, knows where the best seats for the best views, great places to eat in Penang and loves sharing his city with his guest. Most importantly, he was extremely accommodating to my traveling companion who used a cane and had mobility issues. Larwance gave us door to door service to limit her walking and assisted her up and down stairs. Plus, his vehicle is very clean, comfortable and has a great air conditioner (which you definitely need in Penang’s hot humid weather). Thanks, Larwance for a great day- Tam

TOUR: Stunning Kuala Lumpur (Full-Day by Van)
Unfortunately, there is a lot traveling time in between sites. We did not get to see as many sites. Not the guide's fault by any means.

Yes, unlike Penang Cruise Centre which is located in the middle of the city, Port Klang Cruise Terminal is one hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur. But I am glad you enjoyed the Orang Utan Island tour near Penang.

Wonderful tour with Lawrence Lam. He was very knowledgeable about Penang, toured us to see all the major sights and indulged us by modifying his to tour to give us more time to going birding in the Habitat. We also enjoyed a local lunch at one of his favourite spots.
Lawrence gave us great explanations about the history of Penang and all the sights we saw. His vehicle was very comfortable and he was on time both picking us up and delivering us back to the ship.

We had an excellent tour with Lawrence. He was very knowledgeable about the area. His car was extremely comfortable for 4 adults. When we got to the Orangutan island he told us all their names and gave us a really good talk on them. We had some really good conversations with him in the car on the way there and back, and felt very much like we were having a day out with a friend. It was great fun. To finish, he took us to the chew jetty for some very tasty street food. Thank you so much.
