Excellent tour! and Guide! Lawrence's smile was waiting at ships exit. Got a history tour as we drove! Really appreciated his candor about all things on the Malay peninsula. Arrived at Batu Caves during Diwali(crowded) BUT so much fun! A Highlight, even w/o much religious background, mainly historical facts about the caves. Palace is a must miss, but ok for a 20 min pit stop. Downtown KL tower was efficient and picturesque. The Lunch choice was exceptional! We ordered what he recommended and love it!

This is a very comprehensive tour for one day. Lawerance is very engaging and knowledgeable. The expected sites were covered sites and Lawernce gave great commentary. I think this tour was a great value for a one-day tour.

We had a great tour with Lawrence. There were 9 of us in our group and while on a cruise we found out Langkawi was replaced with Penang with little notice and Lawrence worked out a great itinerary for us. He is well spoken, humorous and full of passion and information for Penang. What a fun and cultural day! You can’t go wrong with Lawence as your guide. The highlight for many was the trishaw rides to Chew Jetty.

Lawrence took us on a tour we requested from Penang to the Orang Utan Sanctuary, Ipoh & Kellie’s Castle, plus a few other local highlights in between. He was very well informed about Penang in general and the place’s we visited; my 14yo twins thought the tour was fantastic, which was a credit to him and he was very patient in the rain and the traffic at the end of the day. We will look for him again when we return to Penang.

Lawrence is een schitterende tourguide, vriendelijk , behulpzaam , tot ons groot genoegen nam hij de uitleg over van de lokale gids in het oerang oetang park wat zowel voor ons als voor enkele andere bezoekers een veel betere en duidelijke uitleg was om het bezoek te starten. Bij de terugkeer had hij tevens een verrassing door eventjes bezoek aan een lokaal oud Chinees huis waar ik wij onze tour konden eindigen met nog een aangename souvenirs chopping!!

Our tour with Lawrence was phenomenal to say the least! He was extremely knowledgeable and engaging throughout the trip. I requested an adjustment to our itinerary and Lawrence was quick to find alternative activities that were exactly what we were looking for! He gave us privacy to eat and/or browse alone. Very charming and great sense of humor, the half day tour flew by. There’s no way we could’ve seen all we did in 4 hours without Lawrence guiding us. Would 10/10 rate if I could!

From Penang Island, we may drive 3 hours to Cameron Highlands to visit tea plantations, flora parks etc. There is a direct ferry service to Langkawi Island. We may drive to Hat Yai, the largest city in Southern Thailand (2 hours drive) and go snorkeling at Lipe Island – touted as the “Maldives of Thailand”. After that, fly from Hat Yai to Bangkok.

Although congenial and willing to be out on a tour the second day of the CNY, we felt like our visions for the day were vetoed to keep to the guide’s schedule that fit his preferences/needs. We had had such an amazing guide the previous day in KL, the contrast was noticeable.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: My apologies for proposing Penang Hill instead of going to Tropical Spice Garden. My sister stays near to the Garden. For the past few years during Chinese New Year, it took us a least 3 hours to/from her house for reunion gatherings, as there is only one narrow and winding beach road leading to the place. I honestly did not want my group to be trapped in traffic jam on this second day of Chinese New Year. I believe I have misunderstood and neglected the interest of my guests. Again, my sincere apologies.
